Preeclampsia...I'm a Survivor!
Preeclampsia is a term I had never heard of until I had it. I was unaware that because of my race and family history of hypertension that I was at a higher risk for developing it. In my fourth and final pregnancy, I wasn’t aware that because I had developed preeclampsia in my 3rd pregnancy, it was more likely that I would develop it again. On top of that, once my baby was born, my blood pressure did not go down and I was introduced to a little thing called postpartum preeclampsia.
